Defense

Ty-Gard DS® is approved by the U.S. Army and NATO Defense Ammunition Center for securement of explosives and ammunition in commercial and military transport units.

Problem

Explosives and ammunition require a documented, approved method

Explosives and ammunition move as palletized boxes in containers and trailers, and a shifted pallet at the doors is both a safety incident and a regulatory failure. Rail coupling impacts, highway braking and ocean motion can move an under-secured load, and the securement method itself has to be documented and approved — not just effective — before it reaches a transport unit.

  • — Palletized boxes of explosives and ammunition shift toward the doors under braking and coupling impacts
  • — A shifted load at the doors is a safety incident, not only a damage claim
  • — Securement must use a method documented and approved for military and commercial transport units
