Ty-Gard DS®

24" / 61 cm wide energy-absorbing band laminated with a high-strength pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. Installs in about three minutes per band. Tested and approved to secure dangerous goods and general cargo by road, rail and ocean.

What it is

A flexible band that turns the container wall into the restraint

Engineered as a 24" / 61 cm wide flexible band, Ty-Gard DS is laminated with a high-strength pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. It offers high shear strength on container walls, absorbs impact energy instead of transferring it to the load, and peels off without surface residue.

How it works

Four steps, about three minutes per band

  1. 01

    Prepare

Cut two sections of Ty-Gard DS® and one section of Ty-Patch DS® per band. Peel the liner and press the anchors onto the sidewall with a bonding roller.

  2. 02

    Load

Finish loading and pull the strips across the face of the load, overlapping the ends by about 1 ft (30 cm).

  3. 03

    Tension

Insert the Ty-Tool® through the overlap, place the magnet, trim excess and tension with the small wrench.

  4. 04

    Seal

Place the 5 ft length of Ty-Patch across the tensioned band and press with the roller.
